“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” - Matthew 10:45

Here at St. Peter’s, we recognize that serving God is serving others. Whether here, near, or far, there are multiple care and outreach opportunities through St. Peter’s and the ELCA.

At the church and in the local area, there are multiple opportunities for care and outreach, such as:

  • cooking a meal for the local shelter house

  • working in our clothing center

  • taking a shift at the local Lutheran food pantry

  • taking advantage of one of the many other short term care projects regularly done through St. Peter’s.

The LLT Clothing Rack is open to the public on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays each month from noon till 2:30 p.m. The Clothing Rack continues have a shortage of children and teen school clothing and footwear for any/all ages, genders, and sizes in useable condition. Also, we continue to need sheet sets of any size, blankets, sleeping bags, bedding, and personal care items. Household goods (in decent condition), and sundries are always a great help to our clients. Help is always needed and appreciated. If you are interesting in donating items or volunteering your time, please contact Ron Brown or the church office. Additional hands to help with sorting before the Rack opens are always welcomed. Come on in and see the Rack in action if you have some spare time. You will be moved by what this ministry accomplishes. Please do not leave items outside of the church. Please call to make arrangements to ensure items make it inside and out of the elements.

Blessing Box is available during the Clothing Rack. Donations for the Blessing Box are needed! When donating can goods, please consider easy open pull top containers. Ready to eat and heat to eat are helpful also. Previously opened items (not in original containers) and expired goods cannot be accepted. Popular items include: ramen, tuna/ chicken pouches, Chef Boyardee, juice boxes, peanut butter, jelly, and cereal. Other needed items include deodorant, soap, and toothpaste.

Shelter Meals - OPEN dates are available and volunteers needed. Preparing a meal for our Lutheran Social Services Shelter is a great family project or a wonderful neighborhood service opportunity! If you are interested is serving, please contact Chris Griffin or the church office.
